B · YOUR GOALS
There are no right answers here. We want to understand what you are building toward.
Where do you want your life to be in five years? In ten?
Why does this opportunity appeal to you, rather than buying a business or investing elsewhere?
What would make this a success for you, in your own words?
What is one thing you would want us to know about you that a resume would never show?
C · EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
You can email a resume separately. These questions matter more.
Your last three roles, with dates and the name of someone we could speak to at each
Have you managed a team before? How many people, and for how long?
Any experience in food, retail or hospitality? Describe the busiest day you have worked and your job in it.
Qualifications and certificates you hold (trade, degree, food safety, first aid, anything relevant)
Tell us about a time something went wrong at work and what you did about it.
Have you ever run a business, a franchise or a market stall of your own? How did it go, honestly?
D · THE COMMITMENT, WITH EYES OPEN
This is a hands-on role. The store trades seven days, opens early, and festival season is intense: Diwali weeks can mean twelve-hour days. We would rather you weigh that honestly now than discover it in October.
Describe the working week you expect in this role.
What does a sustainable work and life balance look like for you, and how would you protect it in a seven-day retail business?
This commitment affects the people around you. Have you talked it through with them, and what was their reaction?
Answer in whatever way fits your situation. We ask because managers with genuine support at home last the distance, and we want you to last.
Outside work, what regular commitments hold a place in your week?
Things like children's classes and sport, your own sport or fitness, community or temple groups, family duties. A roster can respect standing commitments we know about early.
What would make you walk away from this role in year three? What would make you stay for year ten?
E · HEALTH AND CAPACITY
The role asks a lot of the body, and the arrangement runs for years. That is why we ask. Answer as fully as you are comfortable; whatever you share is held in strict confidence by the owners and a fuller private conversation comes later if we both proceed.
The role is physical: long hours on your feet, early starts, lifting stock, festival pressure. Are you able to meet these demands? Is there any support or adjustment that would help you do the job well?
Do you have any existing or past health conditions we should understand, such as diabetes, heart disease or cancer?
How active are you? How many times a week do you exercise, and what do you usually do?
How would you describe your general health and energy for a hands-on role?
F · FINANCIAL READINESS
These questions are detailed because the role involves lending Pure Desi a substantial sum, and the loan should be a sensible part of your finances, not all of them. At this stage, answer only what you are comfortable sharing. Anything you leave blank we will simply cover when we talk. Verification against documents happens much later, only with your written consent.
Where does this money come from? (savings, sale of property, inheritance, family gift, other)
If any part is a family gift or from overseas, tell us. It does not rule you out. It changes the paperwork.
After investing, what buffer would you keep for your own household?
Assets and liabilities, in round numbers
A simple honest picture. Exact statements come later, only if we both want to proceed.
What return are you expecting on your money, and over what period? Has anyone discussed numbers with you already?
G · UNDERSTANDING THE ARRANGEMENT
Plain answers to make sure we all see the same deal.
In your own words: who owns this store, and what is your role in it?
H · DECLARATIONS
Please tick each box you agree with. All six are required, even at this early stage, so we all start from the same understanding.
